2025 Summit - Dr Marilyn Monteiro - Ticket Sales are Open

SCPA NSW is excited to announce the expansion of the SCPA Summit in 2025 into 6 hours of online PL accessible to all members and friends!

We are proud to be partnering with Dr. Marilyn Monteiro, renowned developer of the MIGDAS-2 Autism Evaluation Tool. Together, we will be offering exclusive, school-focused training workshops designed specifically for our members.

This is a rare chance to learn directly from one of the top experts in the field!

Over the two-part workshop, participants will learn to:

• Use the MIGDAS-2 system and protocols to engage school-aged children and adolescents in interactive clinical interviews that highlight areas of strengths and differences
• Gain essential tools to conduct a sensory-based diagnostic interview and communication sample with children whose communication skills range from not yet using spoken language to verbally fluent using the MIGDAS-2 system and protocols
• Use the MIGDAS-2 system to organise diagnostic observations and describe individual brain style profiles of strengths and differences in positive and descriptive terms
• Use the MIGDAS-2 Visual Framework to discuss the diagnosis with parents, caregivers, and teachers in a culturally and linguistically informed way
• Integrate the use of the MIGDAS-2 process with the use of up to two additional measures
• Use the Visual Framework and descriptive language to construct an individualised narrative report highlighting areas of strengths and differences
• Develop individualised MIGDAS-2 Brain Style Profiles across age and ability levels
• Recognise three distinctive categories for individualised suggested supports and recommendations applicable to the school setting
• Organise suggested positive behaviour and educational supports and recommendations tailored to the individual receiving an autism diagnosis across age and ability levels

Participants will be provided with a comprehensive training manual as part of this two-part professional development course.
